Music at Messiah

Concerts series serve as a cultural event and offer a cohesive musical experience by featuring different artists or performances around a theme. These gatherings are more than just entertainment; they are community experiences that help people feel connected, reinforce social bonds and provide a sense of belonging among attendees.

WHY a Music at Messiah GF Concert Series?

1. To enhance our beautiful building with amazing performances from new musicians as well as old friends. It is a lovely place to sing or play an instrument.

2. To invite members of the community INTO our lovely Church of the Messiah. Many have people have walked by but never been inside. What a lovely way to see the stained glass, altar and chapel area. We are excited for people to join us on this musical journey (and maybe come back again for one of our community events and/or a Sunday service).

3. To support the work of our vestry (board of directors) as we begin our Capital Campaign. One of our many projects is to restore our beautiful bell tower to its former glory.

HOW did the Music at Messiah Concert Series get started you ask?!?

Kristin said, “I have a GREAT idea! Let’s do a concert series here.” And that’s all it took for a small group of to say, “YES!”

Kristin grabbed our Minister of Music, Sharon, Cari & Sabrina (music teachers) and away we went! Music at Messiah GF Concert Series was born!

Kristin organized our first performance; the volunteer helpers, providing the food for the Meet the Performers reception and printed programs. Her son Steven created our Music at Messiah logo.

Sabrina, who is an amazingly talented musician, volunteered to give a concert with some friends on August 3rd. (Put it on your calendar NOW!

Sharon, who is our wonderful organist, pianist and choir director, has been busy practicing! She is our accompanist for the May 10 & Aug 3 performances AND… she also has her own Sept concert planned! Do you know how much music that is?!? We are SOOO thankful for her!

Mike B (church web master) set up our domain, social media sites, and email address. He was an integral part of making this concert series happen!!

Cari is doing all the digital media creation, website management, PR and social media posts.
